The Cabin Winos

For the drinking and relaxing enthusiasts.

The Talbot reservoir

Tuesday, October 9, 2007

Our cabin overlooks the Talbot reservoir. It is the second damn on the Dan rive as it snakes through the Virginia Mountains.

The reservoir is a trout fishing destination and a park. I am not sure what their hours are but they were closed when I went to check them out Saturday afternoon.

They have limited facilities. Meaning, porta-potty and picnic bench.

The dam from the other side.

This is one of my favorite landscapes from the trip and the only time I got the panoramic setting right on my camera.

More to come...

Stony knoll

Monday, October 1, 2007

Stony knoll was our last vineyard of the trip. They had a gorgeous view and a couple of nice ice wines.
